MTX-TUNNEL is an application running on the GSM-GPRS Terminal which is based on the Cinterion TC65i and designed for communication with remote devices that have RS232/I2C-SPI ports. When remote meters, network switches, routers or other devices need to connect to the network, it is frequently the case that they only have an RS232 port and the only possible way to reach them is using GSM/GPRS Network. MTX-TUNNEL is a ready-to-go solution for such cases.
It acts as a transparent RS232 port and it appears as if your remote devices as directly connected to the computer. MTX-TUNNEL v7 has extra features like WebServer, SMS telemetry, Telnet, DNS, ModBus, Gateway RF, with no limits in infinite M2M scenarios. All Java programmable MTX modems can be supplied with this embedded application. With this application, the MTX Terminals become GPRS to serial gateways that provide remote connectivity very easily to devices that only have an RS232 serial port (meters, temperature or level sensors, ...) or a complete fleet management device.
