Sprint’s Commitment to Network Choice

As a carrier committed to network choice, Sprint believes customers should be able to choose based on their custom need, whether it’s 2G, 3G or 4G LTE.  Sprint understands that M2M customers especially may need one more of these options.  That’s why we plan to maintain each – including 2G – for the long term as part of the overall Sprint Network Vision strategy.  Click here, if you are interested finding out more about our 2G network vision.

Technical Specification

Interested in attending a 2G Network seminar?  u-blox, Sprint and Taoglas Nationwide CDMA M2M seminars in 16 cities will cover technical aspects of 2G to CDMA migration.

These seminars are part of a recently announced u-blox and Sprint collaboration to allow customers designing products for telematics, telemetry, automotive, and security applications to extend the product lifetime of their existing 2G M2M devices by seamlessly migrating to the CDMA network with minimal effort. Those customers concerned about the continued availability of 2G GSM networks in the U.S., can now select from a variety of affordable u-blox modems tested for compatibility on Sprint’s CDMA 1xRTT network.

The seminars include an overview of the following u-blox CDMA modules:

  • FW75-C200:   connectorized 1xRTT module, in the most widely used M2M GSM form factor
  • LISA-C200:   surface-mount 1xRTT module in the most popular M2M form factor
  • FW2763:      1xRTT PCIe card
  • FW2770:      EV-DO PCIe card
