CEVA’s Bluetooth 5.4 IP gains SIG qualification with new features for ESL market

CEVA, Inc. has announced that its rivierawaves bluetooth 5.4 platform is SIG (special interest group) qualified and already licensed to several customers, including to those addressing electronic shelf label (ESL) market. Global technology intelligence firm ABI Research forecasts that ESL (electronic shelf label) market will grow from nearly 185 million annual shipments in 2022 to nearly 560 million units by 2027, with bluetooth-enabled ESLs accounting for a growing portion of overall market. NTIA secures $5.5mn in wireless innovation grants

The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) secured nearly [$5.5 million (€4.99 million)] in the first round of grants from the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund. The [$1.5 billion (€1.36 billion)] Wireless Innovation Fund supports the development of open and interoperable wireless networks as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America agenda. Butler Electric Cooperative selects Conexon to deliver FTTH network in south central Kansas

Butler Electric Cooperative has selected Conexon, to deliver fibre broadband support services for cooperative’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network. The $21 million (€19.18 million) project, representing the state’s electric cooperative fibre broadband network, is partially being funded through a $10 million (€9.13 million) Kansas Capital Projects will deliver FTTH internet access to approximately 4,300 rural Kansans. Service will be offered through Butler Electric’s broadband division, Velocity.

Cisco appoints Oliver Tuszik as new president for Europe, Middle East, Africa region

Oliver Tuszik has been announced as the next president of Cisco Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). With over 10 years of experience in Cisco, Tuszik most recently held the position of senior vice president of Cisco global partner sales and routes to market business, where he supported Cisco’s global ecosystem of partners and advocated for customer needs. Prior to this, Tuszik has over 25 years of management experience across Europe for Cisco, as CEO of Computacenter in Germany, and in various other IT companies. Infineon to build 200-millimeter SiC Power Fab in Kulim, Malaysia

Infineon Technologies AG is now taking a further, decisive step to shape this market: By expanding its Kulim fab over and above the original investment announced in February 2022, Infineon will build 200-millimeter SiC (silicon carbide) Power Fab. The planned expansion is backed by customer commitments covering about five billion euros of new design-wins in automotive and industrial applications as well as about one billion euros in pre-payments.
