Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) has announced public release of Get Ready for Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) 7: Applying new capabilities to the key use cases, a report that explores how this technology will change the way people worldwide live, work and play. Based on the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) 802.11be (extreme high throughput) standard, Wi-Fi 7 has a variety of advanced capabilities. Trusted Connectivity Alliance (TCA) has announced election of Bertrand Moussel (Valid) as chair of board for 2023-4. The organisation works to promote eSIM (embedded subscriber identity module) interoperability, advanced use of eSIM technology across upcoming IoT (internet of things) use-cases and support sustainable creation. Moussel has served on TCA’s board since 2016 and succeeds Claus Dietze (Giesecke+Devrient), who stepped down following three consecutive terms as chair. Dietze remains on board alongside Benoit Collier (IDEMIA), Christian Vignes (STMicroelectronics) and Stephane Quetglas (Thales). Airties and Domos, has announced an alliance to provide enhanced latency management capabilities to broadband service providers around world. Airties and Domos will jointly own latency monitoring software module, based on Domos’ existing module, and will be embedded into Airties smart Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) software. Additionally, Domos will gain access to Airties’ customer base to expand distribution of its network X-ray agent through integration with Airties smart Wi-Fi solutions. NTT DATA, announced that it has partnered with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to implement smart traffic solution to mitigate wrong way driving incidents. Optical sensors will be positioned across 12 main North Carolina state highways and connected to NTT’s smart management platform to acquire relevant data regarding wrong way driving events, as well as assess highway conditions.
