Heliot Europe, a UK and European Sigfox operator and independent IoT network operator and solution provider, has partnered with B4T to provide it with Sigfox-0G network connectivity for its smart water meters. Accenture Federal Services has won a $25 million (€23.36 million) digital transformation prime contract to modernise operations for Air Force Sustainment Centre (AFSC) including each of three air logistics complexes (ALCs) at Tinker Air Force based in Oklahoma, Robins air force base in Georgia, and Hill air force base in Utah. Using an approach that includes cloud, edge computing, and industrial internet of things (IIoT), Accenture Federal Services is creating IIoT enterprise platform for AFSC’s technology hosting environment for NextGen automation, a programme commonly referred to as ATHENA. Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced two modem chipsets with satellite capability: the Qualcomm 212S Modem and the Qualcomm 9205S Modem. The new Qualcomm modem chipsets power off-grid industrial use cases that require standalone non-terrestrial network (NTN) connectivity or hybrid connectivity alongside terrestrial networks, and allow IoT enterprises, developers, ODMs, and OEMs to harness real-time information and insights to manage business projects. Qualcomm Technologies is engaged with Skylo, an NTN service provider, to help enable and operate this new connectivity medium.
