The G3-PLC Alliance reports that its G3-PLC Alliance member Iskraemeco has acquired a major public procurement project which was led by the company SODO system operator of the electricity distribution network d.o.o. , on behalf of four regional utilities: Elektro Ljubljana, Elektro Maribor, Elektro Primorska and Elektro Celje. Iskraemeco will supply G3-PLC smart meters that will be installed in households and transformer stations. (more…)

Semtech Corporation, a supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, announced that CAHORS Group (CAHORS), a manufacturer and monitoring solution provider for smart energy grids, has integrated Semtech’s LoRa devices and the LoRaWAN protocol into its new Sentinel line fault detection solutions for simplified defect monitoring in smart grid networks. As we reported earlier this month, Verizon has been chosen to update Washington State’s Peninsula Light Company (PenLight) power distribution system with Verizon’s Grid Wide Utility Services Intelligent Energy platform. Electricity meters equipped with Verizon cellular connectivity will replace end-of-life meters in the homes and businesses of more than 33,000 PenLight members. (more…)
