This calculator estimates embodied and operational carbon avoidance through the adoption of Tellabs optical local area network (LAN) for smart buildings and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity.

Vodafone has signed a services agreement to provide 4G connectivity for Britain’s smart meter network. The partnership between Vodafone and DCC (Data Communications Company) is an agreement for up to 15 years to build and operate 4G managed IoT (internet of things) connectivity for Britain’s smart meter network, which securely connects more than half of homes to energy suppliers and operators and is managed and run by DCC. Nokia announced that it will work with U.S. energy provider Xcel Energy to help modernise grid operations to better serve customers across the company’s eight-state service area. The project will include the deployment of Nokia private LTE (long-term evolution) network technology, helping support secure, data connectivity and new levels of automation.
