Qualcomm launches new satellites to provide uninterrupted remote monitoring, asset tracking

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced two modem chipsets with satellite capability: the Qualcomm 212S Modem and the Qualcomm 9205S Modem. The new Qualcomm modem chipsets power off-grid industrial use cases that require standalone non-terrestrial network (NTN) connectivity or hybrid connectivity alongside terrestrial networks, and allow IoT enterprises, developers, ODMs, and OEMs to harness real-time information and insights to manage business projects. Qualcomm Technologies is engaged with Skylo, an NTN service provider, to help enable and operate this new connectivity medium.

Biden-Harris administration announces $930mn to strengthen America’s high-speed internet networks

The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced [$930 million (€845.52 million)] to expand middle mile high-speed Internet infrastructure across 35 states and Puerto Rico. Kajeet provides digital solutions to Drake State Community and Technical College

Kajeet has announced a collaboration with Drake State Community and Technical College to address historical disparities in computer and broadband access. With funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), this initiative is part of the NTIA’s Connecting Minority Communities Pilot (CMC) programme and underscores Drake State’s focus on eliminating the digital divide in and around Madison County, Alabama.
