Biden-Harris Administration announces $3.5mn funding in internet for all grants to tribal lands

National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced that it has awarded seven grants totaling nearly $3.5 million (3.22 million) to seven Tribal entities as part of Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP). With funding from Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, these recent grants bring total of program to more than $1.79 billion (1.65 billion) awarded to 198 Tribal entities. Hughes secures $900mn contract by US Space Force for low earth orbit satellite services

Hughes Network Systems, LLC, an EchoStar company, announced that it has been awarded a five-year, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Space Force for proliferated low earth orbit (LEO) satellite-based services. Under the IDIQ vehicle, valued at up to $900 million (€827.14 million), US Department of Defense, other federal agencies and international coalition partners can procure managed, low-latency LEO services from Hughes leveraging capacity on two constellations: OneWeb and EchoStar Lyra.
