Adtran has announced that Sertex Broadband Solutions is utilising its Mosaic One solution to bring high-speed fiber connectivity to the remote community of New Shoreham on Block Island. An end-to-end access solution was required to enable fiber connectivity in geographically challenging island buildout, and the Gigabit network delivers some of the ‘highest’ internet speeds in the state to previously underserved residents and visitors. Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) has announced public release of Get Ready for Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) 7: Applying new capabilities to the key use cases, a report that explores how this technology will change the way people worldwide live, work and play. Based on the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) 802.11be (extreme high throughput) standard, Wi-Fi 7 has a variety of advanced capabilities. nexfibre, in partnership with Virgin Media O2, has reached an agreement with fibre operator, Upp, to acquire provider. The acquisition will boost fibre footprint of nexfibre by 175,000 premises in East of England and ensure investment and network build in region continues for years to come. The all-cash deal sees Virgin Media O2 initially purchase provider and carry out integration work, but nexfibre will thereby fund acquisition through a back-to-back agreement to buy Upp’s network assets.
