The IoT M2M Council (IMC) has announced that it will hold a series of open forums in the next month to discuss security for infrastructure that connects remote devices. The objective of the forums will be to develop practical guidelines for deploying IoT technology that spans both consumer and industrial markets and addresses all the basic facets of an IoT deployment, including devices, networks and cloud/application software. GlobalPlatform’s security evaluation standard for IoT platforms (SESIP) methodology has been adopted as the basis for a European standard (EN) by the European Committee for Standardisation, European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation (CENELEC). The Industry IoT Consortium (IIC) and the International Society of Automation updated the IoT security maturity model (SMM): ISA/IEC 62443 mappings for asset owners and product suppliers and service suppliers.
