Shenzhen, China. 19 July, 2022 – Huawei announced that it has joined Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 patent pool as one of its founding members. This new patent pool provides an avenue for Wi-Fi 6 standard essential patents of Huawei and other innovators to be shared. Huawei has also concurrently become a licensee of the pool.

Washington, 15 July 2022 – FCC chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel has circulated to her colleagues a Notice of Inquiry that would kick off the agency’s annual evaluation of the state of broadband across the country. As part of this assessment, chairwoman Rosenworcel proposed increasing the national standard for minimum broadband speeds and proposed setting a long-term goal for broadband speed. (more…)

O-RAN Alliance has published a new set of 52 specifications for open and intelligent RAN, as the first batch of the O-RAN release 003 specifications. Among them there are 12 new titles including use cases for Massive MIMO and the R1 interface, E2 interface testing, O2dms interface, Acceleration abstraction layer, outdoor macro cell HW, and security specification of 3 different parts of the O-RAN Architecture.
