Plastimo and Sigfox join forces to connect the oceans

Plastimo, an international player in the boating industry, and Sigfox, the IoT service provider and global 0G network operator, have joined forces to offer total geolocation coverage across all oceans from 2020. 5G battleground to move indoors in 2020 to help save the planet, says Ranplan Wireless

We can expect to see mobile operators focus on taking ownership of the indoor environment to deliver seamless 5G connectivity indoors and out, claims Ranplan Wireless. While some 80% of mobile data is consumed indoors, only around 2% of buildings currently have dedicated cellular networks as operators rely on outdoor macro cells for coverage.  (more…)
