Skylo Technologies has announced a partnership and ongoing collaboration with Rohde & Schwarz. The vendors are collaborating to set up a device acceptance scheme for Skylo’s non-terrestrial network (NTN). The proven device test framework from Rohde & Schwarz will be used to test NTN chipsets, modules and devices to validate their compatibility with the Skylo test specification. Based on the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) 802.11be (extreme high throughput) standard, Wi-Fi 7 has a variety of advanced capabilities. The DALI Alliance has extended the DALI-2 certification programme to include firmware updates via the DALI interface in devices including control gear, application controllers and input devices such as sensors. Firmware updates are specified in Part 105 of the IEC 62386 standard. (more…)

Legrand will debut a new battery backup system for the connected smart home in the Legrand – AV Booth 1506 at CEDIA Expo 2023, Sept. 7-9 in Denver. The Legrand Structured Wiring Enclosure UPS (uninterruptible power supply) (UPS-SC600) features six surge-protected outlets with three outlets connected to a battery backup system, and comes in a small form factor to fit practically anywhere, even within a structured wiring enclosure.
