The DALI Alliance has extended the DALI-2 certification programme to include firmware updates via the DALI interface in devices including control gear, application controllers and input devices such as sensors. Firmware updates are specified in Part 105 of the IEC 62386 standard. (more…)

ITBN is a recent OTT (over-the-top) venture founded and led by former FOX SOUL general manager James DuBose. NTT DATA, announced that it has partnered with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to implement smart traffic solution to mitigate wrong way driving incidents. Optical sensors will be positioned across 12 main North Carolina state highways and connected to NTT’s smart management platform to acquire relevant data regarding wrong way driving events, as well as assess highway conditions. Comcast and Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) have announced launch of new Digital Navigator programme. This will utilise trained students to get more Baltimore-area residents including CCBC students connected to the Internet at home, while also teaching digital literacy skills and how to use devices. The programme is supported by a $150,000 (€139792.50) grant from Comcast that will be used to hire and train nearly a dozen CCBC students. (more…)
