AmpliTech partners with Open6G OTIC for 5G testing

The Open6G Open Testing and Integration Centre (OTIC) at the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) at Northeastern University have announced entering into a partnership and contractual agreement with AmpliTech Group, a NASDAQ company, to perform 5G interoperability testing (IoT) and conformance testing of AmpliTech’s newly released, O-RAN CAT B 64T64R MIMO radio unit (O-RU). This activity will take place at the Open6G OTIC in Boston and Burlington, Massachusetts. AmpliTech Group is a designer, developer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art signal-processing components for satellite, 5G and other communications networks, design of complete 5G/6G systems, global distributor of packages and lids for integrated circuit assembly. The latest versions of the Friendly Unified Device Management platform, designed to support TR-069 and TR-369 enabled devices, bring substantial enhancements to Wi-Fi management capabilities. These include:

Onymos and Vapotherm partner to innovate respiratory care with IoT

Onymos and Vapotherm have announced the formation of a development and commercialisation partnership. This partnership will help Vapotherm create a unique respiratory digital platform to meet its data visualisation and device management goals for the Vapotherm HVT 2.0 system in the acute care space as well as for future products in the home.

Through the Onymos Features-as-a-Service platform, Vapotherm accesses Onymos’ suite of Internet of Things (IoT) features — including Onymos Edge, Onymos Access and Onymos DataStore — to build a secure end-to-end solution to connect the HVT 2.0 fleet with the cloud. It consists of a GoLang-based “Gateway” application, an Angular web dashboard for remote device management and cloud storage for patient data. The solution is currently undergoing beta testing with select hospitals.

The HVT 2.0 system currently uses Vapotherm’s high-velocity therapy and has a large, intuitive touchscreen to display relevant clinical information at a distance (flow, FiO2, temperature, safety alarms, event log etc.). Connectivity provides clinically relevant information remotely to help medical teams make informed and confident decisions quickly.

The Onymos platform includes the UI/UX, security, help with compliance requirements, underlying logic that runs on the device, the server-side functions and integrations that process and store data in the cloud, and continuous updates. u-blox advances sustainability goals with 2023 report

u-blox has taken an important step forward on its sustainability programme and published its 2023 Sustainability Report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards.

Sustainability is an integral part of u-blox strategy. Reporting in accordance with GRI Standards is an important step for u-blox as it helps to efficiently inform about u-blox’s sustainability activities and approach to environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities.

Based on a materiality assessment, u-blox has identified a roadmap to reach its targets based on five focus areas:

•    Business ethics, privacy and data security
•    People and communities
•    Environmental responsibility
•    Responsible supply chain
•    u-blox innovations

u-blox has set specific environmental, social and governance short, medium and long-term targets based on measurable performance indicators for each pillar.

u-blox estimates that its technologies positively impact 13 out of 17 UN SDGs. The company added a new pillar and target to its sustainability strategy in 2023 to shape the social and environmental impact of its innovations. Consequently, u-blox has set a target to assess their product portfolio of modules and chips for their contribution to the SDGs by the end of 2025.

Aetheros launches eSIM for smarter grids

Aetheros has announced that it has added GSMA remote SIM provisioning (RSP) support to its flagship software product AetherOS (AOS). Utilities customers can now provision their smart grid eSIMs for the fast, reliable and secure AT&T nationwide network.

In North America, AetherOS is available on the Aclara I-210+c and kV2c Gen 5 smart meters. Utilities need secure, reliable and resilient wireless connectivity to deliver new services to customers and connect to their customers’ smart meters. With remote SIM provisioning, utility companies have the power of choice and flexibility to deploy AMI 2.0 on public, private or hybrid networks.
