Scottish government agency leverages Nutanix Cloud Clusters to embrace cloud technology

Nutanix, announced that Forestry & Land Scotland (FLS) has upgraded its datacentre infrastructure to a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), selecting the Nutanix Cloud Platform to support a workload of 300 virtual machines. FLS opted for Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) on Microsoft Azure, a hybrid cloud solution that functions as a single cloud, allowing users to manage apps and infrastructure in their private cloud and Azure. With Nutanix NC2, FLS has been able to migrate the whole datacentre to Microsoft Azure without the time, effort and expense of re-engineering applications for native deployment. (more…)

Openreach is urging residents in Honington (Lincolnshire) and surrounding villages to get behind a bid to bring fast, reliable full fibre broadband to local homes and businesses. Openreach is warning that the communities risk missing out on an once-in-a-lifetime full fibre upgrade, if they don’t apply for free government broadband vouchers. Once they have them, they can be used to secure faster speeds and greater reliability.
