Comcast grants $4.5mn to Per Scholas to boost economy through digital skill building, tech training

Comcast Corporation has announced a new $4.5 million (€4.11 million), three-year grant to Per Scholas, a national nonprofit advancing economic equity through tech training and career building. The investment will enable more than 10,000 diverse adults across 15 markets to launch new tech careers, empowering individuals from low-wealth communities to earn a collective $450 million (€411.30 million) in new wages alone. Notably, the funding will also support Per Scholas expansion to three new markets in need of skilled technologists for digital economies allowing for even greater community impact. (more…)

NEC secures ten years agreement with Western Identification Network (WIN) system

NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a provider and integrator of advanced IT, communications, and networking solutions has announced that its Integra-ID5 multimodal biometric identification system (MBIS) solution was renewed for acceptance from the Western Identification Network (WIN), a consortium of western U.S. states and local law enforcement agencies.
