Enea has signed a contract for traffic management with a service provider in North Africa. The solution is part of the customer’s modernisation of mobile and fixed broadband and enables efficient management of services and data traffic, along with enhanced quality of experience. The agreement includes software licenses, professional services, and product support. Software licenses corresponding to a value of $1.4 million (€1.28 million) are recognised in the third quarter of 2023, while remaining parts of the agreement are delivered during the coming year. The total contract value is USD 2.0 million.

Amdocs, a provider of software and services to communications and media companies, announced that it has completed its acquisition of TEOCO’s service assurance business. This acquisition will enable Amdocs to provide service providers with end-to-end service orchestration offering, assuring the quality of service and enabling the monetisation of customer experiences. A joint venture between Vodafone Spain and SEMI, a Spanish industrial group, has been awarded a five-year, €25.5 million contract by ADIF to enhance the high-speed train routes from Albacete to Alicante and Barcelona to Figueras with 5G coverage. This initiative is part of the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

CityFibre has been secured with three new contracts under the government’s £5 billion (€5.82 billion) Project Gigabit programme. These will subsidise the rollout of ‘gigabit capable’ infrastructure to 218,000 rural properties in Norfolk, Suffolk and Hampshire, that would otherwise be excluded from commercial rollouts. (more…)

Viasat Inc., a global provider of satellite communications, and Space Norway, have announced that the two satellites for Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission, has completed thermal vacuum testing.
