BT, HPE partner for new global managed LAN service

BT has announced a partnership with HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) to offer customers a new managed service powered by HPE Aruba Networking delivering improved performance, flexibility and control of local area networks (LANs). It combines BT’s global reach and experience in the design, deployment and management of in-building wired and wireless connectivity with the HPE Aruba Networking LAN solutions.

Vodafone to expand 5G coverage to high-speed railways in Spain

A joint venture between Vodafone Spain and SEMI, a Spanish industrial group, has been awarded a five-year, €25.5 million contract by ADIF to enhance the high-speed train routes from Albacete to Alicante and Barcelona to Figueras with 5G coverage. This initiative is part of the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

CityFibre secures three UK project gigabit broadband rollout contracts

CityFibre has been secured with three new contracts under the government’s £5 billion (€5.82 billion) Project Gigabit programme. These will subsidise the rollout of ‘gigabit capable’ infrastructure to 218,000 rural properties in Norfolk, Suffolk and Hampshire, that would otherwise be excluded from commercial rollouts. (more…)

Viasat, Space Norway unveils two satellites for Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission

NTT launches hyperscale data centre campus with new subsea cable system in Chennai

NTT has announced the launch of its hyperscale data centre campus, Chennai 2, and the arrival of its subsea cable system – MIST (Myanmar/Malaysia India Singapore Transit) in the city. The Chennai 2 campus is located in Ambattur, spread across 6 acres is a project with a total planned capacity of 34.8 MW (megawatt) critical IT load from 2 data centre buildings. The initial facility which goes live has a 17.4 MW IT load capacity. (more…)
