VCTI increases accuracy, speed of network planning with new capabilities

VCTI has announced a new set of capabilities that extend the accuracy of the cost-to-build analytics delivered by the company’s Broadband Investment Optimisation (BIO) service offering. Included in the BIO portfolio is VCTI’s PoleIQ automated field assessment tool, which was recently used by one national broadband service provider to assess aerial deployment options and uncover more than [$2 million (€1.83 million)] in savings for one deployment. Openreach to build full fibre broadband in Wales

Shadow secretary of state for Wales, Jo Stevens and Shadow Wales minister Gerald Jones MP recently visited Openreach’s National Learning Centre for Wales to learn more about the strides being made to bring full fibre broadband to Wales. Based in Newport, the multi-million pound learning centre gives trainee Openreach engineers the opportunity to learn the ropes and test their skills in a replica street, built from scratch to recreate the real network in the outside world. Nokia to manufacture fibre broadband optical modules in US for BEAD programme

Nokia has announced plans to manufacture fibre broadband optical modules in the U.S. for use in the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) programme. Partnering with Fabrinet, a global manufacturer of precise optical products, Nokia will produce multi-rate optical modules at Fabrinet’s facility in Santa Clara, California.  (more…)

CityFibre builds fibre network in Wath upon Dearne with £31.2mn full fibre investment

Work to upgrade Wath upon Dearne’s digital foundations with future-proof full fibre network connectivity is now underway after CityFibre started construction works in the town’s Swinton area. CityFibre is investing £31.2 million (€36.49 million) in bringing this new technology to local homes and businesses, providing them with access to a network that has been designed to serve their growing data needs for decades to come. CityFibre deploys full fibre in Bracknell for fast broadband

Homes and businesses across much of Bracknell are now able to future-proof their homes and access fast broadband to get a new digital network roll out by CityFibre. Butler Electric Cooperative selects Conexon to deliver FTTH network in south central Kansas

Butler Electric Cooperative has selected Conexon, to deliver fibre broadband support services for cooperative’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network. The $21 million (€19.18 million) project, representing the state’s electric cooperative fibre broadband network, is partially being funded through a $10 million (€9.13 million) Kansas Capital Projects will deliver FTTH internet access to approximately 4,300 rural Kansans. Service will be offered through Butler Electric’s broadband division, Velocity.
