NETGEAR Inc., has introduced Nighthawk Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6E System (MK93S), engineered for mesh Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) range and performance. The system, consisting of a router and two satellites, delivers 50% improved Wi-Fi performance over previous model and speeds up to 5.7Gbps (gigabytes per second). Hughes Network Systems, LLC, an EchoStar company, announced that it has been awarded a five-year, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Space Force for proliferated low earth orbit (LEO) satellite-based services. Under the IDIQ vehicle, valued at up to $900 million (€827.14 million), US Department of Defense, other federal agencies and international coalition partners can procure managed, low-latency LEO services from Hughes leveraging capacity on two constellations: OneWeb and EchoStar Lyra. Nokia has announced plans to manufacture fibre broadband optical modules in the U.S. for use in the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) programme.
