25 January 2022 – Ericsson, together with PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ fully integrated telecommunications company, and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) strengthen their partnership for nature conservation in the Philippines, with the signing of a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The partnership aims to leverage the use of technology and advanced machine learning solutions to support environmental sustainability in Sasmuan. SiFive is a semiconductor IP company founded in 2015 by the inventors of the open RISC-V instruction set architecture. Its semiconductor IP ranges from high-performance application processors and vector processors to low-power embedded 64- and 32-bit microcontrollers. SiFive was the company to design a quad-core RISC-V CPU capable of running fully featured Linux distributions. SiFive generates revenue by licensing its RISC-V processor core IP. NCTE, the German sensor manufacturer has expanded its 2300 torque sensor series with the introduction of a new variant for lower torque-range measurement tasks down to 0.5 Nm. A new regulation requires all smartphones sold in the European Union from March 2022 onwards to support caller location for 112 emergency calls. To ensure this feature, the devices must be compliant with several positioning systems as outlined by the European Commission. Rohde & Schwarz announces an extension to its R&SÂ TS-LBS location based services test system, making it the first test solution available to perform the necessary LBS compliance tests.
