NTIA secures $5.5mn in wireless innovation grants

Vodafone, DCC partner to upgrade Britain’s smart meter system

Vodafone has signed a services agreement to provide 4G connectivity for Britain’s smart meter network. The partnership between Vodafone and DCC (Data Communications Company) is an agreement for up to 15 years to build and operate 4G managed IoT (internet of things) connectivity for Britain’s smart meter network, which securely connects more than half of homes to energy suppliers and operators and is managed and run by DCC.
