A new study from Juniper Research has found that the total number of MR (Mixed Reality) applications will reach 9 billion by 2022, rising from an estimated 3 billion in 2018, a growth rate of 212% over 4 years. There will be 9.0 billion user-linked subscriptions to wireless services by 2023, up from 7.7 billion today according to new forecasts from Strategy Analytics’ Service Provider Group. Strategy Analytics in its newly published report Global Handset Sales Forecast by 88 Countries and 19 Technologies: 2003 to 2023 finds that while the first 5G commercial handsets will go on sale from early 2019, sales will not begin to scale up until 2021 when volumes approach 5% of global handset sales.
