Nokia, NTT Docomo and Omron bring 5G to the factory floor in Industry 4.0 trial

NokiaNTT Docomo, Inc. and Omron Corporation have agreed to conduct joint field trials using 5G at their plants and other production sites. As part of the trial, Nokia will provide the enabling 5G technology and Omron the factory automation equipment while NTT Docomo will run the 5G trial. (more…)

iBasis and Nordic ‘remove question marks on eSIM NB-IoT and LTE-M’ tech with successful field-testing in 24 countries

Nordic Semiconductor claims that, in conjunction with iBasis, a provider of communications solutions for operators and digital players worldwide, it has completely invalidated any question marks over cellular IoT and eSIM technology used in NB-IoT and LTE-M Low Power Wide-Area (LPWA) use cases. Low power IoT service revenues to exceed $2.6bn by 2024, as operators seek new revenue streams

A new study from Juniper Research found that service revenues from low power IoT technologies will exceed $2.6 billion (2.3 billion) by 2024; rising from only $290 million (263 million) in 2019, a growth of 800% over the next 5 years. National Express turns to Vodafone Business and IBM to boost digital journey with hybrid cloud
