The Open6G Open Testing and Integration Centre (OTIC) at the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) at Northeastern University have announced entering into a partnership and contractual agreement with AmpliTech Group, a NASDAQ company, to perform 5G interoperability testing (IoT) and conformance testing of AmpliTech’s newly released, O-RAN CAT B 64T64R MIMO radio unit (O-RU). This activity will take place at the Open6G OTIC in Boston and Burlington, Massachusetts. AmpliTech Group is a designer, developer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art signal-processing components for satellite, 5G and other communications networks, design of complete 5G/6G systems, global distributor of packages and lids for integrated circuit assembly. Iteris has announced that it has been awarded a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) San Antonio District. The contract has a value of up to USD $3.0 million, representing continued demand for Iteris’ specialised consulting services in the large and forward-thinking Texas market.
This is Iteris’ third IDIQ contract with the TxDOT San Antonio District within the last six years, bringing the total value to $8 million. Work will include developing construction level plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E), and deploying wireless or fibre communications, closed circuit television cameras (CCTV), dynamic message signs (DMS), vehicle detection systems, wrong-way driver systems and low water crossing systems as well as infrastructure support, traffic signal design, traffic signal operations support and signal timing for the twelve-county area.

The AWARE Flood System, the Internet of Things (IoT)-based water inundation monitoring solution developed by Intellisense Systems, will now be produced, sold and supported through a new independent company called AWARE Monitoring Systems. This new company will manufacture AWARE Flood System components and support the Flashflood.info data-viewing site, which delivers water level data and system status updates directly to users’ computers and phones. Aetheros has announced that it has added GSMA remote SIM provisioning (RSP) support to its flagship software product AetherOS (AOS). Utilities customers can now provision their smart grid eSIMs for the fast, reliable and secure AT&T nationwide network.
In North America, AetherOS is available on the Aclara I-210+c and kV2c Gen 5 smart meters. Utilities need secure, reliable and resilient wireless connectivity to deliver new services to customers and connect to their customers’ smart meters. With remote SIM provisioning, utility companies have the power of choice and flexibility to deploy AMI 2.0 on public, private or hybrid networks.

Keysight Technologies has introduced the E7515W UXM Wireless Connectivity Test Platform for Wi-Fi, a network emulation solution delivering signalling radio frequency (RF) and throughput testing for devices using Wi-Fi 7, including 4×4 MIMO 320 MHz bandwidth.
Developed by the IEEE as the 802.11be standard, Wi-Fi 7 is the next generation of Wi-Fi wireless communications technology, promising significant performance advancements and improvements over the previous Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6 standards.
As with any new wireless technology, device makers must perform signalling RF and throughput on clients and access points (AP) to ensure Wi-Fi 7 devices work as intended when deployed. However, existing solutions require complicated test setups with a large number of Wi-Fi devices and network channels to emulate real-world operating conditions.
The newest Keysight UXM Wireless Connectivity Test Solution addresses this challenge by giving RF engineers a solution that simplifies Wi-Fi 7 testing and provides a physical (PHY) layer and media access control (MAC) layer insights.
“With the introduction of the E7515W solution, Keysight is expanding the market leading UXM 5G Network Emulation Solutions to simulate Wi-Fi devices and traffic to cover new use cases from the latest IEEE 802.11be standards,” said Mosaab Abughalib, a senior R&D director and general manager for Keysight’s Wireless Test Group. “The E7515W solution enables faster test setups with less complexity and delivers better load and bandwidth performance to help Wi-Fi 7 device makers accelerate time to market.”
