nexfibre acquires Upp to boost fibre rollout by 175,000 homes in partnership with Virgin Media O2

nexfibre, in partnership with Virgin Media O2, has reached an agreement with fibre operator, Upp, to acquire provider. The acquisition will boost fibre footprint of nexfibre by 175,000 premises in East of England and ensure investment and network build in region continues for years to come. The all-cash deal sees Virgin Media O2 initially purchase provider and carry out integration work, but nexfibre will thereby fund acquisition through a back-to-back agreement to buy Upp’s network assets. Iridium provides global connectivity for XCMG’s heavy equipment

Iridium Communications Inc., announced that Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), will deploy Iridium IoT (internet of things) services on its global fleet of heavy equipment, starting with excavators and expanding to loaders and crane trucks as needed. XCMG will utilise Iridium’s global network to maintain critical connectivity with their heavy equipment in main locations including Australia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, and Central Asia. According to recent studies conducted by Deloitte, an average number of connected devices in US households has risen to 22. Airties, Domos to provide latency management to broadband service providers

Airties and Domos, has announced an alliance to provide enhanced latency management capabilities to broadband service providers around world. Airties and Domos will jointly own latency monitoring software module, based on Domos’ existing module, and will be embedded into Airties smart Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) software. Additionally, Domos will gain access to Airties’ customer base to expand distribution of its network X-ray agent through integration with Airties smart Wi-Fi solutions. NTT DATA deploys smart traffic solution for North Carolina Department of Transportation

NTT DATA, announced that it has partnered with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to implement smart traffic solution to mitigate wrong way driving incidents. Optical sensors will be positioned across 12 main North Carolina state highways and connected to NTT’s smart management platform to acquire relevant data regarding wrong way driving events, as well as assess highway conditions.
