Prophesee closes Series B funding round of US$19m with unnamed electronics giant as new strategic investor

Prophesee SA (formerly Chronocam), inventor of what is claimed to be the first bio-inspired vision system, has closed the initial tranche of its Series B financing round, which will total $19 million (€15.44 million). Clothing & ear based fitness wearables to grow by over 550% in the next 4 years as specialised devices find a place

A new research report from Juniper Research forecasts that specialised fitness wearables integrated into clothing and ear-based ‘hearables’ will grow from an expected 4.5 million shipped in 2018 to nearly 30 million in 2022, an increase of more than 550%. By contrast, conventional activity tracker shipments will only grow by 20% in that time.
