Wi-Fi Alliance launches Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6 certification programme

Wi-Fi Alliance is augmenting Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6 testing protocols to support the regulatory authorisation process of 6 GHz standard power devices pursuant to recently published Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) guidance. Release of this new testing allows product vendors and service providers to verify that the 6 GHz standard power devices meet the technical requirements in Part 15, Subpart E of the FCC rules pertaining to operations under control of the Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) system. Cisco appoints Oliver Tuszik as new president for Europe, Middle East, Africa region

Oliver Tuszik has been announced as the next president of Cisco Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). With over 10 years of experience in Cisco, Tuszik most recently held the position of senior vice president of Cisco global partner sales and routes to market business, where he supported Cisco’s global ecosystem of partners and advocated for customer needs. Prior to this, Tuszik has over 25 years of management experience across Europe for Cisco, as CEO of Computacenter in Germany, and in various other IT companies. Vodafone, DCC partner to upgrade Britain’s smart meter system

Vodafone has signed a services agreement to provide 4G connectivity for Britain’s smart meter network. The partnership between Vodafone and DCC (Data Communications Company) is an agreement for up to 15 years to build and operate 4G managed IoT (internet of things) connectivity for Britain’s smart meter network, which securely connects more than half of homes to energy suppliers and operators and is managed and run by DCC.
