Mobile contactless payment transaction volumes to grow by 92% globally by 2023

A new report from Juniper Research has found that transaction volumes for mobile payments will grow from 26 billion in 2021 to 49 billion in 2023; representing a growth of 92%. Growth in mobile contactless transaction volumes will significantly exceed contactless card volumes by 2023, as mobile contactless transactions grow twice as fast as contactless card transactions. Global smart grid deployment to save over 1,000 terawatt hours in energy by 2026

A new study from Juniper Research has found that global smart grid deployments will lead to annual energy savings of 1,060 terawatt-hours by 2026, from 316 terawatt-hours in 2021. This is the equivalent of powering over 42 million 90-minute football matches at Wembley stadium. (more…)
