Murata has announced that its Type 1SC-NTN has received Skylo FCC & CE L-band certification for its dual-mode cellular and non-terrestrial network (NTN) capabilities, making it the first ultra-compact resin mold module to achieve this recognition from an NTN service provider. The product integrates the latest Rel-17 NTN standard, enabling satellite data communication capabilities without necessitating any hardware design changes. Nordic Semiconductor and Kigen have announced a technical collaboration that will accelerate Massive IoT deployments. The partnership combines Kigen eSIMs, Kigen’s eSIM IoT Remote Manager (eIM) solution for SGP.32 IoT eSIMs and Nordic’s award-winning nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP). The collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to offer robust, secure, low-power cellular IoT solutions that remove the technical barriers to wireless connectivity and enable rapid scalability of the IoT.
Nordic and Kigen will showcase their innovations at CES 2025, offering visitors demonstrations and in-depth discussions with their engineering teams. CES will be held in Las Vegas, NV, from 7 to 10 January 2025. Nordic can be found on booth #52039 at the Venetian Expo.

GlobalPlatform has called for manufacturers of connected devices and components to adopt its “Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms” (SESIP) methodology to demonstrate conformance with the European Union’s new Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which comes into force this month. In addition, Sally Smith, a Digi director since 2018, has announced her intention to retire from the board at the conclusion of the company’s annual meeting to be held on February 3, 2025.
