IotaComm expands leadership team, renews board terms and strengthens focus on growth and impact

IotaComm, a wireless communications and digital services company delivering Internet of Things solutions generating unique and valuable insights for smart buildings and cities, has announced several key organisational updates, including three leadership appointments, the renewal of two board member terms, and an expansion of its People and Impact initiatives.
Derek Brosseau has been named the vice president of sales, where he will lead IotaComm’s go-to-market strategy, oversee sales execution, and implement a comprehensive sales training program designed to accelerate pipeline growth. He will focus on building a high-performing sales organisation and driving market expansion to position IotaComm as one of the providers of IoT data services for smart buildings and cities.
Wael Guibene joins as the senior vice president of product and technology, where he will oversee product innovation, technology strategy, and platform development. Guibene will lead the evolution of IotaComm’s Delphi360 platform and LoRaWAN network services, ensuring the company continues to deliver carrier-grade connectivity and scalable data solutions that generate measurable customer outcomes.
Miguel A. Jackson has been appointed the marketing manager, responsible for strategic communications, brand development, and market engagement. As a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Miguel brings not only marketing expertise but also a strong connection to the community where IotaComm is headquartered. He will spearhead efforts to strengthen IotaComm’s market presence, build brand recognition, and create messaging that connects the company’s mission of health, safety and sustainability with key stakeholders across the smart building and IoT ecosystem.

Derek Brosseau – Vice president of sales
Derek Brosseau is a dynamic and results-driven sales leader with over 20 years of experience driving revenue growth and building high-performing teams. He has a distinguished track record in strategic market expansion, sales team development, and data-driven decision-making. Brosseau was a founding member of FidoTrack Gamification, which led to a successful acquisition, and is known for negotiating a company-record contract at Centrical. His expertise spans enterprise sales, pipeline acceleration, and developing scalable go-to-market strategies. At IotaComm, Derek is responsible for leading the company’s sales organisation, building a best-in-class sales training program, and implementing strategies to expand market presence.
Wael Guibene – Senior vice president of product and technology
Wael Guibene is a seasoned product and technology executive with over 15 years of leadership across wireless, IoT and AI/ML platforms. He has built category-defining, edge-to-cloud products that translate deep radio systems expertise— LoRaWAN, Thread/Matter, Wi-Fi, BLE and LPWAN—into scalable roadmaps and high-reliability platforms. Wael has held leadership positions at Silicon Labs, Reliance Jio, Amazon Lab126, AWS, Samsung Research, Charter Communications, Intel and Semtech. He is an active standards leader in the LoRa Alliance, Wireless Broadband Alliance, Connectivity Standards Alliance, WInnForum and CBRS Alliance. Guibene holds more than 40 patents in LPWAN/IoT, AI/ML and wireless communications, has authored over 45 IEEE/ACM publications, and earned his Ph.D. in Electronics & Communications from Télécom ParisTech (France). At IotaComm, Wael leads product innovation, technology strategy, and platform development, aligning these efforts with the company’s mission to deliver carrier-grade LoRaWAN connectivity and data services.
Miguel A. Jackson – Marketing manager
Miguel Jackson is a communicator and brand leader with a career at the intersection of strategy and creativity. He specialises in digital marketing, brand management, and stakeholder engagement, bringing a proven ability to combine creativity with data-driven insights to craft compelling narratives. Most recently, Miguel served in senior leadership roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he guided campaigns, partnerships and rebranding initiatives that elevated organisational visibility and impact. Miguel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. At IotaComm, he leads strategic communications, brand development, and outreach initiatives, ensuring the company’s message resonates with customers, partners and investors as it scales its presence in the smart building and IoT sectors.

Board and organisational updates
IotaComm also announced the renewal of board terms for Kathy Hanrahan and Paul Baldwin, reinforcing continuity of governance and strategic oversight as the company enters its next phase of growth.
In addition, Kim Velez, the chief of staff to the CEO, will expand her role to include leadership of the company’s People and Impact function, which encompasses employee engagement, performance management, and IotaCommUnity — the company’s social impact initiative focused on education, innovation and community development.
Finally, IotaComm announced the departure of Derek Wallace, the chief product and technology officer, and expressed its appreciation for his contributions, wishing him success in his future endeavours.
