The Connectivity Standards Alliance, an organisation with over 800 Members working together to simplify and harmonise the Internet of Things (IoT) through technology standards, continues to expand the boundaries of IoT innovation while maximising its global reach. With that, we are excited to announce the addition of Bosch to the Alliance Board of Directors (Board) as they step into a leadership role, strengthening the Alliance’s commitment to transforming the connected world.

With Bosch’s inclusion as a Promoter Member, the Board gains significant experience and insight, poised to meaningfully influence the path ahead for interoperability standards. Their elevated role within the organisation offers a trusted perspective rooted in real-world product deployment and performance. Operating on a global scale, their commitment to unified technologies underscores an inherent synergy with the Alliance mission of advancing standardised interoperability.

“We’re pleased to welcome Bosch as a Promoter Member and newest addition to the Board,” said Tobin Richardson, the Alliance President and CEO. “Their proven track record in deploying products at scale, paired with their focus on effortless connectivity, reflects a powerful alignment with the Alliance’s mission to advance open standards and enable meaningful interoperability. Together with Bosch’s leadership and global manufacturing expertise, the Alliance community remains dedicated in shaping the evolving IoT landscape.”

“I am thrilled with the addition of Bosch to the Alliance Board of Directors,” said Musa Unmehopa, the chair of the Alliance Board. “Their leadership brings valuable, hands-on industry experience and helps to advance our work in delivering robust, scalable interoperability across the IoT. The addition of Bosch as a Promoter represents an important step forward in making our shared vision of a more connected world a reality.”

As a Promoter, Bosch aims to help expand on key initiatives. These will focus on efforts to refine Alliance tooling and processes for improved member utility, and on driving progress towards enhanced SDK modularity for more seamless integration with complex devices, a step Bosch believes is vital for increasing Matter adoption in a wider range of products and ensuring the standard’s overall success. Supporting these efforts, Bosch is represented on the Alliance Board by Thomas Hartwig, the IoT Architect at Bosch Home Comfort, as Primary Board Director, and Eelco Lammertink, the global strategic project lead at BSH, as Alternate.

“Our decision to become a Promoter Member of the Alliance underscores Bosch’s belief in the power of collaboration to drive true interoperability,” stated Thomas Hartwig, the IoT architect at Bosch Home Comfort. “Having actively participated in the Alliance, we recognise that the next phase of Matter’s growth requires even deeper engagement from companies that bring products directly to consumers. Bosch is ready to bring our extensive experience in developing and shipping millions of connected end-devices to the strategic leadership level, focusing on practical solutions for energy management, broader ecosystem support, and ensuring the standard aligns with the needs of sophisticated appliances and systems. This move signifies our commitment to making Matter a resounding success for the entire industry.”

Better Together

Bosch’s addition to the Board highlights the Alliance’s continued evolution and the growing momentum in paving the way to a world of seamless connectivity—transforming the way we live, work and play. As a trusted ally in driving the evolution of the IoT, Bosch brings deep knowledge and a recognised commitment to advancing open and secure solutions across connected ecosystems. We look forward to their contributions as we work to advance a more interoperable future.
