MinewSemi, has announced a new Bluetooth LE module based on Nordic Semiconductor’s new next generation of wireless SoCs, the nRF54L Series. The ‘ME54BS01’ module is suitable for industrial automation, healthcare and smart home IoT applications in particular, and provides developers with a step change in performance and security over previous modules.

The pre-certified ME54BS01 has a 23.2 x 17.4 x 2 mm form factor and features Nordic’s next generation nRF54L15 SoC, which integrates a 128 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor, a RISC-V co-processor, and an ultra-low power multiprotocol 2.4 GHz radio. It includes a high performance PCB antenna, supports industrial-grade temperature ranges (-40° to 85° C or -40° to 105° C), and provides a rich set of peripherals as well as 19 GPIOs. The generous 1.5 MB non-volatile memory (NVM) and 256 KB RAM is capable of running multiple wireless protocols concurrently, including Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Mesh, Thread, Matter, Amazon Sidewalk and 2.4 GHz proprietary protocols.

Processing power doubled

“Thanks to Nordic’s new generation of multiprotocol SoCs, the ME54BS01 can deliver double the processing power of previous Bluetooth LE modules enabling them to power edge computing and machine learning (ML) applications ideal for most of tomorrow’s IoT solutions,” said Coral Huang, the senior FAE at MinewSemi.

The nRF54L15 SoC ensures the ME54BS01 offers high IoT security by design, integrating features such as Arm TrustZone isolation, tamper sensors and hardened cryptographic accelerators. This provides improved protection for security-conscious applications and enables developers to easily build secure IoT products, regardless of specific security requirements.

Quality reference designs

MinewSemi has also announced the ‘ME54BS02’ module powered by Nordic’s revolutionary nRF54H20 SoC. In addition to industrial automation, healthcare and smart home IoT applications, the ME54BS02 is also intended for high-end wireless applications such as electric vehicles (Evs), LE Audio, game controllers, VR/AR devices and medical equipment.
