Energous Corporation d/b/a Energous Wireless Power Solutions has announced it has shipped the first orders of its 2W PowerBridge transmitter system to a Fortune 100 technology company. The Energous transmitters will be the foundation of new WPNs that will deliver always-on, advanced asset tracking capabilities for certain reverse logistics processes at the company’s distribution centers.
Reverse logistics is a critical process in supply chain management that involves recovering products and materials after their use or distribution, and includes activities such as returns management, recycling, refurbishment and disposal. Digitising this process with Internet of Things (IoT) technology allows companies to streamline logistics, enabling them to plan efficient routes and networks, speed up operations, proactively plan activities and anticipate and manage issues before they occur.
The Energous 2W PowerBridge transmitter system delivers continuous access to wireless power, over-the-air and at distance, while enabling a constant stream of real-time data for all IoT-enabled devices in the supply chain, such as sensors and tags. The transmitter features a dual band, dual polarisation antenna which enables it to transmit higher radiated power—up to 8W Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP)—and deliver up to 99% visibility of all connected devices. This level of visibility enables improved decision-making and traceability of products and materials, while also helping to reduce waste and improve supply chain sustainability.
“The Energous 2W PowerBridge transmitter is a game-changer for companies with complex supply chains, that span multiple tiers of suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers across diverse geographies. With its ability to deliver up to 99% visibility for all tracked assets and inventory—without the need for batteries, cables, or wires—our transmitters deliver unparalleled, real-time access to accurate asset locations, from origin to the last mile, reducing losses and improving operational efficiencies,” said Mallorie Burak, the interim principal executive officer and CFO at Energous Wireless Power Solutions.
