Waterloo joins Metronet multi-gigabit network with ultra-high-speed internet
Metronet has announced that residents and businesses throughout Waterloo now have access to Metronet’s multi-gigabit speeds with service installation available in initial construction areas. As Metronet service becomes available throughout the Waterloo area, residents will have the opportunity to power up with multi-gigabit speeds up to 2 gigabits; and businesses may access speeds up to 10 gigabits.
“Metronet’s multi-gigabit 100% fibre optic internet has the power to change lives and the way residents and businesses operate online day to day. With access to symmetrical, reliable internet, homes, schools, and businesses throughout Waterloo now can live and work at speeds this community has never experienced,” says Craig Zimmerman, Metronet government affairs manager. “We are incredibly excited for Waterloo to join Metronet’s network of multi-gigabit communities and look forward to seeing the positive impact of our service on the community for years to come.”
As Metronet continues construction throughout Waterloo, residents in construction areas will receive 30 days advance notice by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood. Metronet provides additional messaging, such as yard signs, to notify residents of when construction is beginning in their neighborhood. Metronet crews are marked by ID tags and branded vehicles.
