Keyfactor accelerates cybersecurity innovation with open source community

Munich, Germany. 1 June 2022 – Keyfactor , the machine and IoT identity platform for modern enterprises, announces its new open source community. The community provides developers, operations professionals, and technical teams with the in-depth knowledge and open-source tools needed to implement the security solutions, or for specific products.
Security is a critical success factor for almost every company that develops connected products or online services. Technical and operational teams are increasingly relying on public key infrastructure (PKI) and machine identities to securely build, deploy, and run applications. PKI gives developers a flexible and scalable security tool that can be further expanded and integrated with business-critical processes and infrastructure elements. Keyfactor’s open source community offers the cryptography, PKI and digital signage products as open source community releases accessible to all users.
” Open source technology creates an opportunity for collaborative innovation while also promoting transparency to build digital trust in the business,” says Tomas Gustavsson, chief PKI officer at Keyfactor. “ The new Keyfactor Community empowers users to work closely with peers in the industry, providing informative resources and access to world-class knowledge in a secure environment. Development teams have enormous power and responsibility when it comes to security-related decisions. With this new community, we want to relieve them of a large part of that burden by giving them access to our entire software stack through open source software.”
Keyfactor community members get access to EJBCA, SignServer, and Bouncy Castle community editions, as well as free trials of enterprise editions on Azure and AWS Cloud. The community software already has an extensive user base thousands of users act as quality assurance agents, downloading, testing and using each new release.
