New HCME Series: Easy to install and a compact design
Supporting the trend towards miniaturisation, HARTING’s new HCME current sensor series can be directly mounted on busbars. This contributes to shorter installation and an easy pre-assembling of power electronics.
Despite the limited space requirements – the dimensions of the devices are 6cm in height and 14cm wide – the HCME current sensors measure high currents up to 5500 A with highly reliable precision. This makes the sensors an ideal component for present day power electronics, characterised by their strong modular and compact design.
The HCME sensors utilise the so-called open-loop measurement principle. This provides a direct representation of the primary current with an accuracy of up to ± 1%. The HCME sensors can measure direct or alternating currents, even if they have complex waveform, over a frequency range from 0 to 50 kHz. The high immunity to interferences, e.g. caused by the magnetic fields of external current-carrying conductors, constitutes a specific benefit.
The wide temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C enables the deployment under extreme environmental conditions. The sensors come in standard sizes and their compact design offers a high degree of freedom for integration into individual applications.
High reliability and accuracy make the new sensors ideal for use in PV inverters, frequency converters or power supplies for welding applications.
