At HUAWEI CONNECT 2017, Huawei and Hundsun Technologies jointly released an all-flash acceleration solution for centralised transaction systems powered on the new-gen OceanStor Dorado V3 AFAs and Hundsun UF2.0.The solution delivers 24/7 high reliability and low latency for the securities industry. Hundsun’s UF2.0 centralised transaction system and service architecture yield compelling advantages in stability to help securities companies construct highly efficient and reliable trading platforms while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

The all-flash acceleration solution for centralised transaction systems runs on Huawei OceanStor Dorado V3 AFAs designed to leverage the full advantages of SSD while keeping latency down to a predictably low 0.5 ms. The joint solution incorporates Hundsun UF2.0, a new-generation transaction system adopting all-flash database technology and streamlined parallel processing technologies to help customers gear up to the new demands in trading.

For the trillions of transactions that commonly take place each day in trading, especially when it is a bull market, any interruption to services would have much more extensive effects than in years previous. Trading volumes have increased hugely. Statutory oversight is also stiffening. Security traders have zero tolerance for service interruptions.

They are also placing much more stringent demands on IT systems to ensure shorter transaction times and real-time trades while improving data utilisation efficiency. Systems require unified management layouts and traditional storage architectures are proving incapable of supporting the rapid growth in trading.

The OceanStor Dorado V3 all-flash acceleration solution can handle 14,000 transactions per second while keeping latency down by 80% for such huge volumes, yielding a four-fold improvement in transaction volume over traditional systems while reducing O&M by 50%. Adding to the appeal, OceanStor Dorado V3 all-flash works with Oracle RAC and enables a gateway-free active-active data center build. Services are switched within seconds in the event of a single point of failure to enhance service continuity.

Pang Xin, vice president of Huawei IT Storage Product Line, said, “More and more customers are expecting performance and higher reliability with lowered latency in their all-flash purchases. The collaboration between Huawei and Hundsun helps securities companies improve transaction processing efficiency in a centralised manner and reduce TCO.”

“Huawei continues to up investments and band with more partners to continuously strengthen its portfolio in storage and Big Data analysis technologies and provide users with an improved experience.”

Li Jian, senior manager of System Integrations at Hundsun, said, “Hundsun UF2.0 adopts an overarching management approach while ensuring precision of each transaction in the loosely coupled architecture to build an open, comprehensive service platform.”

“The solution is able to be rapidly scaled out so securities companies are able to innovate new services with enough performance to match their needs. Pairing our UF2.0 system with the superior performance of the Huawei OceanStor Dorado V3 brings out the full advantages of the offering. Our cooperation with Huawei has helped us both better serve our customers.”

HUAWEI CONNECT 2017, Huawei’s flagship event for the global ICT industry, was held at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre from September 5-7. The theme was ‘Grow with the Cloud’. Huawei explored how to realise new growth through digital transformation together with its customers and partners at this global platform for open collaboration.
