Momo – The Home Genius brings Artificial Intelligence to every home
The startup Morpheos launched its first crowdfunding campaign to support its project, Momo – The Home Genius, the robotic smart home assistant, with Artificial Intelligence at its core. Its inbuilt technology guarantees household security and safety, and smart home connectivity, while learning user’s habits and behaviors.
Momo the Home Genius is the brainchild of a team of engineers and I.T. experts bringing advanced technology that simplifies and enhances the individual’s home life while minimising the need to manage technology or connected appliances.
Momo uses smart facial recognition to learn who is safe and who is an intruder, and combines a live streaming 360° camera with temperature and humidity, light, gas and particulate, and motion sensors for a complete home security system. Momo can promptly detect and notify of any domestic incidents, control lighting and heating, saving time and reducing energy consumption by appliances.
Momo can identify, manage and control the user’s existing smart devices and appliances connected to smart plugs, extending its intelligence throughout the connected home.
Integrated into a functional design lamp made in Italy, Momo offers a unique lighting experience thanks to one of the most advanced technological lighting systems integrated into a lamp.
Through the mobile Momo Home app, Messenger or Telegram – and voice-activated, the user can choose how to interact with Momo. And last, but not the least, the lamp can be managed using gesture control.
Morpheos, the startup that created Momo – The Home Genius, is founded in 2015, and in the same year is awarded € 800,000.00(US$ 897160) in financing by Smart&Start – Invitalia, and is taken on board by Digital Magics, the most important business incubator in Italy.
In 2016 Momo wins its first award, the Best IoT Award 2016 in the Smart Home category, and reaches the final in the Edison Pulse Challenge, thanks to the vote of online users. In 2017 the team creates its second prototype – following on from the first in 2015 that was inspired by the Pixar lamp – and decides to entrust the design to skilled experts. After its successful presentation at trade shows such as Maker Fair Rome and Smau Milano and several meetings with investors, the team is launching its first crowdfunding campaign.
Edoardo Scarso, CEO at Morpheos, declared: “The Momo project brings together our passion, resources and a multitude of skills and know-how. We’ve completed the design phase and now we are focused on production and distribution. We can’t wait to share our vision with the public and backers and their support will be an all-important final boost to create Momo – The Home Genius.”
