Fira aims to make Barcelona the capital of industrial innovation this autumn with Industry 4.0 week
Fira de Barcelona will become one of the largest international exhibition platforms for industry, in both the commercial and knowledge areas, with Barcelona Industry 4.0 Week.
The event will simultaneously bring together the Expoquimia, Eurosurfas, Equiplast and In(3D)ustry From Needs to Solutions trade shows, the IoT Solutions World Congress, the World Congress of Chemical Engineering and the World Chemical Summit, as well as the Smart Chemistry, Smart Future event, all held at the Gran Via venue.
These events will attract thousands of companies, around 850 international speakers and over 50,000 professionals to exhibit the most comprehensive and innovative offerings from the entire production chain; from raw materials, plastics and chemicals, through mass and customised production, to process automation using cutting-edge technology.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona, these events held simultaneously from 1 to 6 October will turn Barcelona into the international capital of industry 4.0, offering professionals from all these sectors the chance to increase their contacts and business opportunities by taking advantage of the synergies created.
Fira de Barcelona Core Business director, Salvador Tasqué, stated ‘in line with our strategy, Fira de Barcelona is committed to bringing our major industry events together to help promote innovation in production processes and support companies in their technological transition towards more efficient, sustainable and competitive production. We believe that this will, therefore, be the industry event of the year focused on the latest technology, we want to help put Barcelona at the worldwide centre of industry 4.0′.
Industrial change using new technologies, the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution, will thus be the common denominator of a series of tradeshows exhibiting intelligent materials, their processing, their industrial application in solutions and their smart connectivity.
From 2 to 6 October, the 18th edition of Expoquimia will thus showcase the latest developments in the chemical industry at the largest chemical industry tradeshow in Spain and Southern Europe. The Tenth World Congress of Chemical Engineering (10th WCCE) will be held within the framework of this tradeshow from 1 to 5 October.
Organised by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering, this Congress will bring together over 3,000 chemical engineers from all around the world at an event that will be held in Spain for the very first time.
The corporate project Smart Chemistry, Smart Future, led by the Spanish Chemical Industries Association (FEIQUE), will be attended by leading companies and organisations in the Spanish chemical industry. The First World Chemical Summit will be held at the same time.
This will be a benchmark discussion forum for the applied chemical industry to discuss pioneering solutions for six major future challenges: food, energy, health, water and air, the digital society and industry.
The 18th edition of Equiplast, the international plastics and rubber event which brings together the leading companies in this sector, as well as the 26th Eurosurfas, the international surface treatment event, will also be taking place. These three tradeshows and their respective congresses will attract over 714 companies in the sector and 590 internationally renowned speakers.
The Second In(3D)ustry From Needs to Solutions will be held from 3 to 5 October, a change from last year’s dates. After the success of the first edition, with over 40 exhibitors and 102 speakers, the event will feature an extensive representative sample of the advanced and additive manufacturing ecosystem with the participation of the leading manufacturers of these kinds of machinery, as well as user companies from various industrial sectors.
Likewise, the IoT Solutions World Congress will be held from 3 to 5 October. This Congress has already become the leading event in the industry, with over 200 exhibitors and 200 international speakers attending, and this autumn will once again bring together the world’s leading experts in Industrial Internet as well as the companies that are setting the pace in the development of IoT worldwide, a technology that increases production, automates processes and is changing the business model for a host of industrial sectors.
Barcelona Industry 4.0 Week will exhibit proposals for a wide range of industries, thereby covering the entire production value chain, presenting the best solutions and the latest innovations that will be integrated into the day-to-day of companies. The event has the backing of the leading industry associations and companies as well as the public authorities.
