Original Technology has developed both the hardware and software for a product line of small, low-cost, battery-powered sensors.  The sensors measure a wide variety of physical parameters including temperature, humidity, strain, vibration, acceleration, and electrical resistance in a harsh, industrial environment. Using an embedded ARM microprocessor, the sensor performs an analysis on all or some of the above parameters and reports the results to a Python based web server. Connectivity from the sensor to the server is accomplished using WiFi, Bluetooth, or LoRa sub-GHz radios. The devices are designed to be install in a harsh environment and have a projected battery lifetime of 3-5 years.

The web-based, server software provides an enterprise solution for managing dispersed Internet of Things (IoT) devices.  It also provides data blending and data analysis functions, facilitating automatic reporting and software updating. The use of Python, Flask, SQLalchemy, WTForms, and JinJa2 worked together to make the project effective and scalable.
